Types of care we can refer to you
family child care home
Your child is cared for
by a provider in a home setting, other than your own, certified to care for a specific amount of children at one time and maintain health and safety standards according to the Rhode Island child care regulations. This certification may indicate an approved assistant or special condition.
group family child care
Your child is cared for in a licensed home setting, but in a larger group (from 9-12 children) and with approved adult assistance.
child care centers
Your child is cared for in a facility licensed to maintain health and safety, as well as appropriate group size and staff/child ratios.
before/after school programs
Your child is cared for in a licensed program offering appropriate group size and staff/child ratios.
nursery schools
Your preschool child is enrolled in a program licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education, usually operating two-three hours per day, and two-five days per week.
summer camps
Your child spends the summer or a portion of the season in a camp program. There are many differeing activities offered throughout the state for a variety of ages.
au pairs/nannies/in-home care
